Job title: Multiple Positions-Part-Time General Education (CORE) Faculty
About the Role The general education (CORE) faculty at St. John Fisher University will teach courses within the newly developed core curriculum, spanning from first-year learning communities to mid-level exploration courses across multiple disciplines. The role emphasizes writing and communication, civic and inclusive leadership, and applying writing/analysis to diverse topics. Positions are filled as needed and compensation is per course.
What You'll Do
- Teach course(s) within the general education curriculum
- Contribute to development and delivery of CORE courses and instructional materials
- Engage with students to foster writing, communication, and inclusive leadership skills
- Collaborate with faculty and participate in faculty development opportunities
- Potentially teach evening courses and work onsite on campus
What We're Looking For
- A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Teaching experience preferred; experience teaching writing and other forms of communication is beneficial
- Strong civic/community connections and commitment to equity and inclusion
- Ability to work on an ongoing basis to enhance course offerings
- Willingness to work evenings if assignments exist
Nice to Have
- Experience in higher education
- Familiarity with diverse student populations and inclusive pedagogy
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation provided on a per-course basis at rates set by the University; part-time instructors have access to facilities, instructional supplies, and faculty development opportunities
- Per-course pay example: $3,501 per course (3 credits) based on Fisher's typical course load
- Evening course assignments may be available
