At KRTV, we tell the stories that matter most to the communities we serve. As a Multimedia Journalist, you'll research, report, shoot, write, edit, and deliver compelling local news content across multiple platforms. You'll be at the center of breaking news, community events, and impactful storytelling, helping viewers stay informed and connected.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Research, develop, and pitch story ideas from news leads, tips, and community sources.
• Gather and verify information through interviews, observation, and independent research.
• Write clear, accurate, and engaging stories that meet broadcast and digital editorial standards.
• Capture high-quality video and still photography to support storytelling efforts.
• Edit video content for television broadcasts, websites, social media channels, and other multimedia platforms.
• Deliver live reports from the scene of breaking news, community events, and special coverage.
• Appear on-air for interviews, narrations, and news presentations.
• Collaborate with photographers, producers, and newsroom colleagues to create compelling content.
• Assist producers with newscast preparation and content development.
• Partner with digital teams to publish and promote stories across multiple platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years of journalism, reporting, multimedia, or related experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license, strong driving record, and the ability to provide proof of insurance that meets company requirements.
• Ability to travel locally for assignments and drive company or personal vehicles as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Strong broadcast writing skills with knowledge of AP Style.
• Experience with videography and non-linear editing systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of broadcast-quality camera equipment.
• Experience editing video using Final Cut Pro or similar editing platforms.
• Proficiency with newsroom computer systems and digital publishing tools.
• Ability to post and manage content across websites and digital platforms.
• Strong organizational, communication, and storytelling skills.
• A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven news environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
