About the Role The Multimedia Content Creator and Web Maintenance Specialist at Wayland Baptist University – San Antonio Campus is responsible for the creation of engaging video media content, social media content, university content flyers using logos/infographics, and the maintenance of the San Antonio campus web pages. The ideal candidate will have a passion for visual storytelling, strong technical skills, and a keen eye for detail.
What You'll Do
- Create compelling and high-quality video content aligned with the university’s brand and marketing objectives.
- Develop and execute creative concepts for video content, including storyboarding, scripting, filming, and editing.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to understand content requirements and ensure video content effectively communicates key messages.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in video production to continually improve quality and impact.
- Create engaging and shareable social media content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure regular social media updates.
- Monitor social media channels for trending topics and industry news to generate timely content.
- Ensure the university’s web pages are visually appealing, user-friendly, and up-to-date.
- Regularly update content on the university’s web pages, including text, images, videos, and multimedia elements.
- Conduct regular website audits to identify and fix issues related to performance, functionality, or user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, and IT, to optimize web page performance and functionality.
- Implement SEO best practices to improve the organization’s web page rankings and visibility. What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated work experience in multimedia, film production, digital media, or web page maintenance.
- Experience: Experience in a university administration setting, preferably in media content creation; video production and editing.
- Skills: Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar; excellent knowledge of social media platforms; familiarity with web content management systems and basic coding languages HTML and CSS.
- Additional: A deep commitment to Christian Higher Education and agreement with the purposes and philosophy of higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in general and WBU in particular.
- Abilities: Excellent communication and presentation skills; critical thinking; ability to work with executive level relationships; well organized and able to independently prioritize projects and meet tight deadlines; problem solving; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite; ability to write, proofread, and edit promotional materials; strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
