About the Role KPIX-TV is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Journalist (MSJ) to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about community storytelling, brings ideas to the table daily, cultivates sources, and has a strong social media presence. You should be able to create shareable stories for both broadcast and digital/social platforms with excellent writing, compelling video, and editing, and provide a link to examples of broadcast and digital work. What You'll Do
- Develop story ideas, write, shoot, and edit news content for on-air daily newscasts.
- Pitch vetted stories reflective of the community.
- Establish and maintain relationships/sources in the community.
- Produce content for Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid driver's license required.
- SAG-AFTRA union membership will be required. What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Multi-Skilled Journalist or journalist capable of delivering across broadcast and digital platforms.
- Creative storytelling skills and energetic delivery; ability to create shareable stories.
- Strong writing, compelling video, and editing abilities.
- Ability to shoot and edit for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Strong social media presence with ability to engage audiences.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team and cultivating sources. Nice to Have
- Ability to shoot and edit broadcast-quality video for television newscasts and digital platforms.
- Must be able to work independently.
