Job title: Multi-Season Assistant Coach
About the Role King School seeks a motivated Multi-Season Assistant Coach to support Middle School (grades 6-8) and Upper School (grades 9-12) athletic programs during the 2023-24 school year. The role includes coaching across multiple seasons and potentially leading as many as six different teams, with opportunities to contribute to program development while upholding the school's mission and athletic department philosophy and adhering to FAA and NEPSAC rules.
What You'll Do
- Coach and support Middle School and Upper School teams across Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons.
- Take on leadership responsibilities for up to six teams as assigned.
- Collaborate constructively with student-athletes and colleagues, upholding the King School mission and Athletic Department philosophy while following FAA and NEPSAC regulations.
- Support practices and competitions with awareness of schedule: MS practices typically around 2:15 p.m.; US practices around 3:30 p.m.; events may finish as early as 5:00 p.m. and as late as 7:30 p.m.; fall preseason starts in late August; spring seasons wrap before June.
- Foster a positive, inclusive athletic experience and contribute to student-athlete development.

- Highly motivated candidates with strong leadership and communication skills, and a background in coaching and/or teaching.
- Ability to collaborate with children and adults in a positive spirit and uphold King School and Athletic Department mission.
- Commitment to following the rules of the FAA and NEPSAC.
- Flexibility to coach multiple seasons and sports as needed.
Nice to Have
- Experience coaching multiple sports or serving in multi-team roles.
- Willingness to take on leadership responsibilities and support program development.
- Experience with Middle and Upper School athletics.
Compensation & Benefits
- Stipend: $1,950.00-$5,650.00 per season (Fall, Winter, Spring).
