Motor Grader Operator Rough - Heavy Civil
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
- Operates Motor Grader, which is used to grade excavation and embankment and to lay asphalt, base and other materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- May blade haul roads and do other generalmotor grader work, but does not perform finish grade work to close specification tolerances.
- Thisoperator may be a learner in the first phase of learning the skills of motor grader work.
- May oil, grease or otherwise service and make necessary adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Whatever enhances the operations of the company.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Less than a High School Diploma
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (for instance, rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.)
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL
- Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
MANUAL DEXTERITY
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
