The Monitoring Specialist is responsible for overseeing the monitoring infrastructure, ensuring system performance, and maintaining high availability through the use of Dynatrace, PowerAdmin, and PowerShell automation. The role focuses on proactive monitoring, operational excellence, and driving continuous enhancements that contribute to client success.

The mission of the Monitoring Specialist is to effectively monitor and manage cloud-based resources while ensuring system reliability, availability, and operational excellence. Through proactive monitoring, continuous improvement, and collaboration, this role helps deliver a seamless and high-performing technology environment for our clients.

What to expect

Your day to day will look like this:

• System Monitoring: Implement and manage monitoring solutions (Dynatrace, PowerAdmin) to ensure the performance and availability of servers, networks, applications, and cloud resources.
• OneAgent Deployment and Configuration: Deploy and configure OneAgent across hosts, containers, and cloud services.
• Topology and Management Configuration: Create management zones, tagging rules, and Smartscape topology mapping to provide accurate visibility into service dependencies.
• Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate monitoring tasks and generate detailed reports.
• Alert and Incident Management: Configure meaningful alerts, respond rapidly to incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
• Performance Optimization and Compliance: Analyze system performance, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
• Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance Dynatrace configurations, monitoring processes, and supporting tools.

The experience we are looking for

The following experience will help you succeed in this role. However, if you don’t meet all these criteria, we will be happy to consider your application, because we’re looking for potential first.

• Over 2 years of hands-on experience with Dynatrace in production environments, including platform administration; PowerAdmin experience is considered a strong asset.
• Expertise in deploying, troubleshooting, and optimizing OneAgent, Dynatrace Intelligence, Smartscape, management zones, synthetic and real-user monitoring (RUM), dashboards, DQL, and Grail.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting as well as monitoring, maintaining, and managing IT infrastructure, including cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and their integration with Dynatrace.
• Authorized to work in Canada, able to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders, and professionally bilingual in French and English.
• If english is required: English is required to communicate with clients and partners located outside Quebec.
