Job title: Mold &Tool Maker A ( 2nd shift)
About the Role Mold & Tool Maker A on the 2nd shift will work primarily on plastic injection molds and related tooling, collaborating with operations, engineering and process technicians to repair, modify and fabricate tooling for current and new products. You’ll be DISRUPTIVE by applying tool and die making skills to support manufacturing improvements in both existing processes and new designs.
What You'll Do
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of mold components using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Study blueprints, sketches, and models to repair or fabricate tools and dies.
- Troubleshoot production and prototype tooling; perform mold cavity and insert changes to support the production schedule.
- Set up and operate conventional or CNC machine shop equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders) and wire EDM.
- Inspect tooling for production readiness; fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools.
- Participate in tryouts with completed tools to ensure parts meet specifications and adjust as necessary.
- Record work and repair history in the electronic maintenance system.
- Perform and develop effective preventive maintenance systems for plastic molds and stamping dies.
- Build and modify spare parts as needed and provide accurate time estimates of repairs.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and work in a self-directed manner to implement projects and optimize production processes.
What We're Looking For
- Possess expert-level experience troubleshooting tooling.
- 5 years’ experience with Injection Molding repair, engineering changes and new builds.
- Journey Mold (Tool and Die) Maker.
- Experience with aluminum stamping and machining a plus.
- Must be able to communicate technical status to the engineering or operations team.
- Experience with SolidWorks or NX is a plus.
- Experience with Master CAM or Solidworks CAM is a plus.

- SolidWorks or NX experience is a plus.
- Master CAM or SolidWorks CAM experience is a plus.
