Job title: Mold Set-Up and Processing Technician
About the Role The Mold Set-Up and Processing Technician at Menasha Corporation is responsible for ensuring high-quality operation of injection molding tools and equipment to maintain optimal production and minimize downtime. Works to install molds, set parameters, perform start-ups, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment to ensure stable, efficient, and consistent molding operations.
What You'll Do
- Provide processing assistance to the shift supervisor.
- Perform mold set-ups & changeovers, machine starts ups, lockouts, and shutdowns as required.
- Set up machines for production processing.
- Prepare and follow first piece procedure to ensure conformance and product quality is met.
- Troubleshoot injection molding machines, conduct audits, and monitor parts for quality.
- Ensure cycle time, weight, mold change requirements, etc., are followed and adhered to.
- Work with maintenance, tooling, and quality to reduce quality-related concerns and issues.
- Perform random audits on each machine & monitor the quality of parts produced.
- Monitor parts produced to ensure customer requirements & satisfaction are met.
- Respond to the needs of the operator, packer, etc. by addressing ongoing concerns.
- Work safely and efficiently and use all required personal protective, safety equipment and devices.
- Actively participate, promote & sustain Continuous Improvement, 5S and STW activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Flexible to work 12-hour continental shift schedule.
What We're Looking For
- Experience operating and troubleshooting injection molding machines and tooling.
- Ability to set up molds, perform changeovers, start-ups, lockouts, and shutdowns.
- Strong understanding of production processing setup and first-piece procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machines and monitor part quality.
- Ability to monitor cycle times, weights, and mold change requirements, and ensure adherence.
- Collaboration with maintenance, tooling, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Commitment to safety, PPE use, and safe work practices.
- Willingness to participate in Continuous Improvement, 5S, and STW activities.
- Flexibility to work a 12-hour continental shift schedule.
