Module Equipment Technician (Contract)

About the Role Intel is seeking a Contract Module Equipment Technician to support semiconductor manufacturing in Bayan Lepas, Penang or Kulim, Kedah. The role focuses on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment configuration to ensure tool availability and performance. What You'll Do

• Perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose problems in non-functioning manufacturing equipment.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair, and install/assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, manuals, and drawings.
• Conduct setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance on production equipment; coordinate with suppliers for service and repairs when needed.
• Monitor and analyze data to improve tool performance; create reports of system failures and update or create specs.
• Collaborate with Module Engineering to execute experiments, support data collection, and implement published procedures.
• Support Engineering with module equipment troubleshooting through data analysis and controlled experiments to meet/ improve module availability and performance targets.
• During factory ramps, work with module engineering and construction teams to install and/or convert tools predesigns.
• This is a one-year contract with potential extension and possible conversion to permanent position based on business needs and performance.
• Work location will be onsite in Bayan Lepas, Penang or Kulim, Kedah; shift is 12 hours with day/night rotation; OT may be required during festive/holiday seasons. What We're Looking For
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related technical field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant technical experience preferred; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts with day/night rotation; able to stand for long periods; willing to support OT.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and maintenance; familiarity with technical documentation and procedures.
• Strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to work with precision instruments.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities; willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies; attention to detail and commitment to quality. Nice to Have
• Additional hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance experience; familiarity with mechanical/electronic/mechatronic systems.
• Experience working with module equipment during ramps or deployments. Compensation & Benefits
• Duration: One-year contract with potential for a further one-year extension; potential for conversion to permanent position subject to business needs and performance.
• Location: On-site in Bayan Lepas, Penang or Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia.
• Work model: On-site; 12-hour shifts with day/night rotation; OT may be required during festival/holiday seasons.
