About the Role Join Minit Stop as a Customer Service Associate in Wailuku to perform cashier and cook duties while delivering excellent customer service. You will handle POS transactions, prepare and serve food, and support daily store operations in a fast-paced environment. Starting pay is $16.50/hour, with training bonuses and advancement opportunities.
What You'll Do
- Greet and assist customers in a positive and professional manner throughout their visit.
- Handle cash, credit and debit transactions on the POS and balance the register at shift end.
- Prepare, handle, cook and serve food according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure proper food storage and discard procedures follow company standards.
- Assist with inventory stocking, organization and rotation.
- Clean and maintain the store floor and kitchen areas.
- Operate and maintain all company equipment and report hazards or incidents promptly.
- Promote incentives, promotions and reward programs.
- Assist customers with inquiries and resolve issues as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
- Obtain TB clearance and Safe Food Handler certification upon hire; acquire liquor card within 60 days of hire.
- Previous cash and food handling experience preferred.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm for learning, effective communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow company policies and local/state/federal laws related to food, alcohol, and tobacco.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods; reliable attendance and punctuality.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in retail/food service environments.
- Familiarity with Hawaii Petroleum/NorthStar Energy operations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay: $16.50 per hour (with potential increases based on training and advancement).
- $250 training bonus per course, up to $500 total upon successful completion of cashier and cook training.
