Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mining Safety Manager / Driller Operators Team Lead to oversee drilling operations while ensuring strict compliance with mining safety standards and company procedures. The successful candidate will supervise drilling operators, coordinate daily activities, monitor equipment and work practices, and promote a safe and efficient mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of driller operators.
• Ensure drilling operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and according to operational requirements.
• Monitor drilling activities, productivity, and work quality.
• Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox meetings.
• Ensure all drilling personnel comply with safety procedures and properly use PPE.
• Identify and report safety hazards, equipment faults, incidents, and unsafe work practices.
• Ensure proper pre-operation checks and basic maintenance of drilling equipment.
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
• Train, guide, and supervise drilling operators and other site personnel.
• Maintain accurate drilling, safety, and operational records.
• Coordinate with mining engineers, supervisors, and other departments.
• Implement corrective and preventive safety measures.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the mining site.

Requirements

• Degree, HND, OND, or relevant technical qualification in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in mining, drilling, or heavy industrial operations.
• Proven experience operating or supervising drilling equipment.
• Previous team-lead or supervisory experience is required.
• Good knowledge of mining safety procedures, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment and site operations.
• Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a mining-site environment.
• Relevant HSE/safety certification will be an advantage.

Salary

N400,000 / month.
