About the Role Kelley Drye & Warren LLP’s Real Estate Practice Group is seeking a midlevel associate with a solid background in real estate finance and lender representation. The ideal candidate will have approximately three to five years of experience in commercial real estate lending transactions and a strong foundation in drafting, document review and due diligence. This role offers meaningful responsibility in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, working with experienced partners and senior attorneys on a diverse range of real estate finance matters. While we work across office lines, we are open to candidates in any Kelley Drye office with a preference for New Jersey, New York or Connecticut. What You'll Do
- Draft loan documents
- Conduct and manage due diligence reviews
- Review opinion letters and other third-party documents
- Lead the preparation of closing checklists and coordinate closing logistics
- Communicate directly with clients and other transaction participants, and coordinate with internal deal teams
- Manage multiple workstreams within a deal
- Familiarity with lender-side representation is a plus What We're Looking For
- Three to five years of substantive experience in real estate finance, preferably at a major law firm or institutional lender
- Strong analytical and drafting skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A self-starter who can take ownership of significant portions of a transaction while working in a team
- J.D. from an accredited law school; Bar admission required in the attorney’s resident and/or affiliated office Nice to Have
- Familiarity with lender-side representation preferred Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $250,000 - $295,000 USD annually
