Job title: Midlevel Corporate Finance Associate
About the Role K&L Gates seeks a midlevel Corporate Finance associate to join our Charlotte or Pittsburgh office. The ideal candidate will have two to six years of sophisticated law firm experience with private equity, private credit, commercial lending, and mezzanine finance transactions. The candidate should have experience representing both lenders and borrowers in connection with secured and unsecured syndicated credit facilities, asset-based loans, and acquisition financings. Experience with loan workouts and restructurings is preferred.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring and opportunities to assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact.
- Practice across private equity, private credit, commercial lending, and mezzanine finance transactions, representing lenders and borrowers in secured and unsecured syndicated credit facilities, asset-based loans, and acquisition financings.
- Gain exposure to loan workouts and restructurings and develop a strong understanding of the financing lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
- Two to six years of sophisticated law firm experience in corporate finance, with focus on private equity, private credit, commercial lending, and mezzanine finance transactions.
- Experience representing both lenders and borrowers in connection with secured and unsecured syndicated credit facilities, asset-based loans, and acquisition financings.
- Knowledge of loan workouts and restructurings is a plus.
- Strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service.
- Self-starter capable of working independently and as part of a team.

- Experience with loan workouts and restructurings (preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Compensation: $210,000 - $360,000 per year.
