As a Microbiology Specialist Senior you will:
- Perform microbiological analysis of raw materials, finished products, and environmental monitoring samples according to established procedures and GLP requirements.
- Maintain ISO 17025 compliance within the microbiology laboratory, including documentation, audits, CAPA management, and equipment qualification/calibration.
- Lead investigations of analytical deviations, trend analysis, and risk assessments using quality tools such as PDCA, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa.
- Support and complete cleaning validation activities, including protocol preparation, reporting, and technical assessments.
- Train and guide team members, develop SOPs, and support continuous improvement projects and microbiology projects.
- Manage laboratory consumables, reagents, and KPIs while ensuring environmental and equipment control.
- Participate in internal and external audits and act as a member of the Food Safety Team (ESA).
Skills
- Knowledge of microbiological analysis, GLP, ISO 17025, and quality investigation tools.
- Experience in trend analysis (OOS/OOT), risk assessment, continuous improvement projects, and audit participation.
- Familiarity with SAP, KPI management, statistics, and Microsoft Office.
- Advanced English; Spanish desirable.
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, Food Engineering, or related fields.

Minimum 10 years of experience in microbiology laboratories, including leadership responsibilities.

Experience as an ISO 17025 internal auditor; lead auditor qualification is desirable.

Specialization or postgraduate studies in Microbiology or related areas.

Experience in investigations, trend analysis, and quality management tools.

This is an 100% on site position, at our Jaguaré site, reporting to the Quality Control Coordinator.
