Job title: Mental Health Technician | Behavioral Health
About the Role Logan Health Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Mental Health Technician to support our inpatient team at a 40-bed facility. The role provides compassionate care and supervision to patients, documents behaviors, and supports treatment plans in a collaborative, confidential environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide compassionate care and supervision to patients/clients; document behaviors and support individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain a safe environment through regular safety checks and de-escalation as needed.
- Facilitate group activities and foster engagement within the unit.
- Contribute to aftercare and transition planning under leadership direction.
- Accurately document all care in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
- Exercise good judgment and stay calm in stressful situations; implement least restrictive to more restrictive interventions per de-escalation training.
- Identify at-risk patients and develop safety plans as needed.
- Oversee daily activities (school, therapy groups, recreation) as applicable to assigned area.
- Escalate concerns to appropriate leadership as applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental needs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology/sociology/education or related field preferred; other combinations of education/experience may be considered.
- Prior experience in a residential, psychiatric, or mental health facility required.
- RQI Responder (BLS) within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care.
- De-escalation Training within twelve (12) months of hire.
- Knowledge of cultural, ethnic, social, historical and spiritual issues relevant to mental health treatment preferred.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a team and independently; maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software as needed.

- Knowledge of cultural, ethnic, social, historical and spiritual issues relevant to the provision of mental health treatment (preferred).
