About the Role The Mental Health Technician (MHT) III serves as a lead clinical support professional in Dayton Children's Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness, providing advanced direct care, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support to patients with complex emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral conditions. Working with a high degree of autonomy under licensed clinical staff, the MHT III helps maintain a safe, trauma-informed milieu and serves as a milieu leader. This role models advanced behavioral interventions, mentors staff, and coordinates daily shift programming for highly acute individuals in the crisis center under the delegation of licensed personnel. What You'll Do
- Provide advanced direct care, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support to patients with complex emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral conditions as a lead clinical support professional.
- Maintain a safe, trauma-informed milieu; mentor staff; coordinate daily shift programming for highly acute individuals; execute specialized medical and technical support procedures within the crisis center under the delegation of licensed personnel.
- Deliver and oversee trauma-informed care to patients and families; manage routine safety checks; perform high-acuity 1:1 interventions.
- Participate in treatment plan development; lead complex crisis interventions; facilitate advanced therapeutic groups; collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on complex discharge planning.
- Demonstrate advanced competency in providing age-appropriate pediatric care; safely perform essential medical support procedures (specimen collection, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and splint placements).
- Night shift specifics: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, weekend and holiday rotation, serving the inpatient Mental Health Unit at the Mathile Center. What We're Looking For
- Associates degree in related field
- 2 years mental health work experience required
- Registered Behavioral Training and certification provided upon hire Nice to Have
- Bachelors degree in related field
- 3+ years of mental health experience
- 2 years inpatient mental health/crisis/emergency department experience preferred
- 1+ EKG experience
