About the Role Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care is seeking Mental Health Clinician III to support multiple clinical programs including Adult Partial Hospital and Brief Treatment, as well as a Mental Health Clinician III role within Rutgers University Correctional Health Care. Under direction, these clinicians provide comprehensive evaluation, assessment and therapeutic intervention to address the psychological, emotional and social needs of individuals served. These roles require collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across diverse settings in New Jersey. What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive evaluation, assessment and therapeutic intervention to address psychological, emotional and social needs of individuals served.
- Conduct DSM-V based assessments and participate in treatment planning and case management as appropriate.
- Document all client contacts and maintain accurate records; coordinate and communicate with multidisciplinary teams across units including Adult Partial Hospital, Brief Treatment, 988 Lifeline Services, School-Based Programs and Correctional Health Care settings.
- Contribute to program operations and support coordinated care across outpatient, inpatient and crisis services as needed. What We're Looking For
- Experience providing clinical evaluation, assessment and therapeutic intervention in mental health settings.
- Ability to work across multiple clinical settings (adult inpatient/outpatient, crisis/988 Lifeline services, school-based programs, and correctional health care).
- Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to maintain accurate records and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to culturally competent, client-centered care and collaboration within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Willingness to work in New Jersey locations across multiple sites (e.g., Monmouth Junction, New Brunswick, Bridgeton). Nice to Have
- Spanish language proficiency (explicitly requested for the Outpatient Service/Spanish‑required role).
