Job title: Medical Scribe - Float
About the Role Assist providers with real-time clinical documentation, coding, and care coordination in a primary care setting. Scribes support efficient patient care and contribute to accurate documentation and population health initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Document patient encounters in real time in structured notes, including HPI, assessment, plan, and physical exam; join providers in exam rooms
- Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare After Visit Summaries
- Support Clinical Documentation Improvement by reviewing medical records and leveraging population health tools; participate in daily huddles
- Provide administrative support to the provider and care team, including placing orders and referrals and handling additional tasks
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications; clinical experience or shadowing/volunteering; prior scribe or transcription experience (preferred)
- Advanced listening and communication skills; strong computer literacy; ability to learn new workflows; US work authorization; HIPAA compliance
- Fluency in languages such as Spanish, Polish, Russian as applicable
- Ability to adapt to new workflows; type 70+ WPM; be a self-starter and team player; excellent attendance; able to commit to 1 year (2+ preferred); able to work 40-45 hours/week
Nice to Have
- Commitment of 1-2 years ideal; prior value-based care documentation or population health data experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: USD 17.00 - 31.30 per hour
