About the Role
Logan Health is seeking a Medical Records Technician to support daily office operations, maintain patient records, and ensure HIPAA and legal standards are met. This role is based at Logan Health Whitefish in Montana, with a day shift, full-time schedule, and a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and collaborative teamwork. What You'll Do
- Prepare, scan, and organize patient records per department procedures.
- Maintain patient charts and respond to record requests in compliance with HIPAA and applicable laws.
- Perform quality audits on scanned records and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage data management tasks, run reports, merge accounts, and analyze records for deficiencies.
- Assist with daily office operations and provide backup as needed.
- Maintain supplies and equipment, coordinating repairs as necessary.
- Collaborate with team to meet departmental needs and ensure prompt responses to requests.
- Obtain records for patients and assist in obtaining records for new patients. What We're Looking For
- Minimum one year of work experience in either an administrative office or a healthcare setting.
- Post-high school or vocational training.
- Strong customer service skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn other software.
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Commitment to confidentiality and teamwork.
- Additional requirement for Logan Health Whitefish assignment: Current Montana Notary must be obtained within six months of hire. Nice to Have
- EMR experience preferred.
