About the Role As a Medical Records Technician at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, MT, you’ll support daily office operations, maintain patient records, and ensure HIPAA and legal standards are met. Location: Logan Health Medical Center – Kalispell, Montana. Schedule: Day Shift – 8 Hours | Full-Time – 40 Hours. This role focuses on accuracy, confidentiality, and efficient records management to enable quality patient care. What You'll Do
- Assist with daily office operations and provide backup as needed.
- Prepare, scan, and organize patient records per department procedures.
- Obtain records for patients, and assist in obtaining records for new patients as applicable.
- Process medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA and legal requirements.
- Prioritize and prepare files for scanning and/or storage.
- Scan documents to database and index per department procedure.
- Categorize and organize documents per department protocol.
- Research and resolve issues per department procedure.
- Perform quality audits on scanned images.
- Maintain supplies and equipment, coordinating repairs as necessary.
- Run reports, merge accounts, and analyze patient records for deficiencies.
- Respond promptly to requests and collaborate with team members to meet departmental needs. What We're Looking For
- One (1) year of work experience in an administrative office or healthcare setting.
- Post-high school or vocational training.
- Strong customer service skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software.
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Commitment to confidentiality and teamwork.
- Additional requirement for Logan Health Whitefish (LHW) assignment: Montana Notary must be obtained within six months of hire. Nice to Have
- EMR experience and medical terminology preferred (if not already required).
