Job Summary

Summary: The purpose of your job is to serve patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; and maintaining records and accounts.

Qualifications

Essential Functions:

• -Provides excellent customer service to internal/external customers.
• -Provides basic information to patients.
• -Has ability to field patient questions and direct accordingly.
• -Accurately collects/verifies Demographics/Financial information.
• -Triages Telephone calls.
• -Arranges Escort Services.
• -Collects Co-pays.
• -Collects payment at time of service from Self-Pay patients and directs them to Financial Counselor.
• -Ensures completeness of Paper/System forms.
• -Requests Medical Records.
• -Follows HIPAA Guidelines for the management of patient privacy and confidentiality.
• -Maintains Physical Environment.
• -Has ability to cross cover within the office.
• -Assists with orienting new staff in their own practice settings.
• -Participates in practice meetings; may be directed to keep minutes in offices where there are not Lead Receptionists.
• -Carries out special projects as directed.
• -Performs other duties as assigned.
• -Compiles with all policies and standards.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience

• 1-3 years of customer service experience, preferably in a clinical setting. 0-1 year required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Displays courteous telephone interactions and interview activities with patients.
