About the Role Siemens Healthineers/Varian seeks a Medical Physicist to support Radiation Oncology Services across multiple sites. The role involves ensuring high-quality and safe interpretation, delivery, operation, and monitoring of radiation safety policies, procedures, standards, and equipment, while delivering quality radiation therapy and mentoring staff to minimize exposure. You will uphold customer service standards and practice family-centered care in interactions with patients, families, and co-workers.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with Cancer Care Leadership to implement and maintain radiation safety policies, procedures, standards, and equipment for Radiation Oncology Services.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality radiation therapy and provide staff with education, training, and oversight to minimize radiation exposure.
- Support and implement patient safety practices and customer service standards.
- Demonstrate Family-Centered Care principles in interactions with patients, families, and co-workers.
- Work with a range of clinical radiation oncology platforms and equipment; participate in treatment planning, dose monitoring, and quality assurance as applicable.
What We're Looking For
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or closely related field; CAMPEP-accredited residency.
- Minimum 2+ years (some roles 3+) of post-graduate physics/clinical experience in a program with computerized treatment planning and simulator/accelerator systems.
- Certification in Radiation Oncology Physics by ABR or equivalent preferred; eligible for board certification within 3 years where required.
- Experience with HDR and SRS programs preferred; familiarity with treatment planning systems and dosimetry equipment.
- Onsite role with willingness to travel for specific transitions when required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Varian platforms and software such as TrueBeam, Eclipse, ARIA, and R&V systems; HDR and SRS capabilities; familiarity with imaging/analysis software.
- Computer system administration experience with patient record and verify databases is a plus.
