Job Description

• Medical Officer on Duty
• Near Springfield, IL
• $72–$88/hour
• part-time
• Inpatient

Responsibilities

• Medical Management: Address routine, basic, and chronic medical issues for patients within the mental health facility.
• Emergency Response: Promptly identify acute medical emergencies and facilitate immediate transfer to the local emergency room.
• Clinical Documentation & Compliance: Perform unit rounds as required for medical follow-ups and complete History and Physical (H&P) assessments as needed.
• Orders & Diagnostics: Prescribe medications and order necessary laboratory work or diagnostic tests.
• Occupational Care: Address and provide treatment for on-site staff injuries as required.

Requirements

• Education: Graduation from an accredited medical school with a valid MD or DO degree.
• Licensure & Certification:
• Current, unrestricted Illinois medical license.
• Board certified or board eligible in your field of specialty.
• Active Illinois Controlled Substance certificate.
• Active Federal DEA certificate.
• Health Screening: Documentation of a negative Mantoux skin test within the last 90 days, or completion of a new Mantoux test before the start date.
