Job Title: Medical Officer II

About the role
- The role involves providing clinical care in family medicine under appropriate supervision, managing patients across out-patient and in-patient settings with decreasing levels of supervision, and contributing to the safe and effective running of the family medicine service.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients in family medicine with decreasing levels of supervision, escalating appropriately.
- Participate in clinics, ward rounds, on-call rotas and procedures as required, contributing to audit and quality-improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and current MDCN registration/licence in line with internal clinical policy.
- Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team, coordinating care with other services and supporting managed-care/HMO processes through evidence-based, cost-effective practice.
Requirements
Education
- MBBS or MBChB from a recognised institution.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC clinical experience, including time at Medical Officer I grade or equivalent.
Required Skills
- Sound clinical knowledge relevant to family medicine
- Sound clinical record-keeping
- Competent use of hospital clinical systems
- Effective communication with patients, families and colleagues
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
