Job title: Medical Office Receptionist - Neurosciences - Days
About the Role A front-desk, patient access role within the Neurosciences department responsible for reception, scheduling, and patient assistance to ensure high-quality service.
What You'll Do
- Greet incoming patients and visitors at points of service and provide friendly customer service.
- Refer patients and visitors to appropriate department or resource; notify appropriate resource of arrivals.
- Verify patient demographics and eligibility; register new patients; schedule and reschedule appointments; follow up on cancelled or missed appointments.
- Collect co-pays and balances; make follow-up appointments as necessary.
- Respond to patient questions and coordinate with other departments and teams as needed.
- Perform various clerical duties; may order supplies; operate standard office equipment; may assist with medical records.
- Maintain neat, professional work and waiting areas; adhere to NCH standards, policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: One year of customer service or interaction with the public required.
- Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Skills: Proficient computer skills; strong communication and organizational abilities.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency with common office software and ability to handle sensitive information (as applicable).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $18.38 - $26.65 per hour.
