Job Description The Medical Librarian shall be responsible for providing reference assistance, collection development, and bibliographic instruction to the Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (DCOM) and the Physician Assistant Studies program as well as other faculty, staff, and students as needed. This individual's primary responsibilities will be to provide library services support to the faculty, staff, and students of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Physician Assistant Studies program on the Harrogate campus

Required Qualifications ALA accredited Masters in Library Science; ability to occasionally travel.

Preferred Qualifications Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) credential or provisional membership; additional advanced degree in an area relevant to LMU's programs

Job Duty promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large

Job Duty promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and the community at large

Job Duty participate on university committees

Job Duty participate in the continued development of Reed Health Sciences Librarys collection of resources (print and electronic)

Job Duty maintain and update Reed Health Sciences Library website in collaboration with other librarians

Job Duty provide bibliographic instruction and reference services to LMU programs, specifically to the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Physician Assistant Studies program

Job Duty provide reference service for residential and extended campus medical students and faculty via face-to-face, telephone, e-mail, and Web

Job Duty review, maintain, and assist in developing documentation to support strategic planning and assessment processes

Job Duty evaluate, collect, and discard, information resources of the Health Sciences Library

Job Duty participate in faculty and student library and technology workshops

Job Duty remain abreast of current or relevant professional developments

Job Duty participate in departmental planning and decision-making and implementation of library and departmental policies

Job Duty market the health sciences library services and the mission of LMU to the patrons of the library and the academic community at large

Job Duty complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports in conjunction with the Director of Library as necessary for the operation and advancement of University programs

Job Duty maintain strict confidentiality regarding library patron records and other University matters

Job Duty perform other duties as assigned
