Medical Laboratory Scientist
What you become a part of: This role is crucial to ensure the accurate and efficient handling of specimens from receipt through processing, maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient care.
What to expect: Perform a wide range of microbiological tests including culture, sensitivity, and identification of pathogens. Analyze specimens such as blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment. Ensure compliance with all laboratory policies, quality assurance, and safety standards. Record and interpret results accurately; communicate findings to healthcare providers when necessary. Participate in continuous education and training programs. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Essential education, experience and skills: Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science (BMLS) Valid license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) Minimum of 3-5years post-NYSC experience in a medical laboratory, with strong expertise in Microbiology. Conversant with good laboratory practice. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Good communication and teamwork skills.
