Description
- We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will perform laboratory investigations, ensure accurate and timely reporting of results, maintain quality standards, and support clinicians in delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and validate clinical chemistry tests using manual and automated methods.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Conduct internal quality control and support external quality assurance programmes.
- Review and report results accurately and promptly, escalating critical results appropriately.
- Maintain proper records, reagent inventory, and equipment logs.
- Follow laboratory safety, infection prevention, and quality management procedures.
- Work collaboratively with clinicians and other laboratory staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current professional licence and registration with the relevant regulatory body.
- Specialty training or experience in Chemical Pathology/Clinical Chemistry.
- Experience with automated chemistry analysers and laboratory information systems is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work shifts, where required.
