About the Role Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technician performs clinical laboratory testing aiding the physician in the crucial role of detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.
What You'll Do
- Perform clinical laboratory testing and analysis to support patient care.
- Operate LIS and HIS computer systems and use specialized automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, microscopes, and the Pevco pneumatic system.
- Maintain accuracy and safety by following standard medical laboratory techniques and safety precautions; ensure legible handwriting and accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments and communicate effectively with staff and clinicians.
- Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; uphold confidentiality and privacy requirements.
- Manage multiple responsibilities with strong organization and critical thinking.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science; must meet current qualifications under CLIA-88 and Oregon DHS Regulations, CAP and Joint Commission standards. Copy of academic degree or transcript required upon hire.
- Working knowledge of LIS and HIS computer systems; experience with specialized automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, microscopes, and the Pevco pneumatic system.
- Ability to use a personal computer and software programs; capable of using standard office equipment and telephones; excellent communication and ability to work interdepartmentally.
- Commitment to confidentiality, able to think and act independently with minimal supervision; ability to sit/stand/walk, lift up to about 40 pounds; must demonstrate legible handwriting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $38.66 - $57.38 per hour USD.
