About the Role
Vancouver Breast Centre (TELUS Health) is hiring a Medical Imaging Technologist to perform imaging procedures including digital x-rays, mammograms and breast ultrasounds, supporting patient-centered team-based care. You will help maintain the highest standards of patient safety and confidentiality while producing high-quality diagnostic images used for patient diagnosis and treatment.
What You'll Do
- Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including digital x-rays and mammograms (2D and 3D tomosynthesis) in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Receive and prepare patients by obtaining case histories, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing questions with empathy and expertise.
- Verify and review images for technical accuracy, generate detailed technical worksheets, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure imaging meets diagnostic requirements.
- Perform administrative tasks as required and maintain current knowledge through continuing education and certifications.
- Actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, workflow efficiency, and clinical outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- Medical imaging technologist with a minimum 2 years of digital mammography experience.
- Diploma or Degree in Medical Radiation Technology and CAMRT mammography certification.
- Experience in breast ultrasound procedures.
- Advanced proficiency with EMR and PACS/RIS, including digital imaging, archiving and retrieval, plus standard workplace technology.
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR for healthcare providers).
- Collaborative team player with strong independent judgement, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized with effective time management and professional judgement.
Nice to Have
- Experience in ultrasound-guided breast interventional procedures would be considered an asset.
