About this role

Job Description Job Responsibilities Develop, direct, and implement policies and procedures for use of radioactive materials in research and clinical areas. Assist in identifying problems, analyzing issues and implementing connective actions. Review and incorporate government and industry radiation protection standards to assure University compliance and worker safety. Interact with research and clinical staff to ensure proper equipment function, security and maintain patient safety. Act as resource for PIs and Authorized Users. Investigate accidents. Provide training. Act as lead on small to medium projects. Supervise health physics technicians, conducting performance evaluation. Assign work to other health physics technicians, during their rotation to assigned areas. May assist with hiring process for new staff.
