Job Description

Okwara Clinic Foundation (OCF) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Doctor to join their team in Isiekenesi, Imo State, Nigeria.

This critical role involves overseeing patient medical needs and delivering high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a range of medical conditions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to ethical practice, and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the well-being of the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients’ medical conditions.
• Interpret medical tests and prescribe appropriate medications.
• Monitor patient treatment and progress.
• Provide health education and preventive care.
• Recognize and manage medical emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent medical qualification.

• Current registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and a valid practising licence.

• Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

• Completion of residency or recognized postgraduate training in Family Medicine/Family Practice or Internal Medicine.

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional clinical experience.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting ECG/EKG tracings.

• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-management skills.

• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, compassion, and commitment to patient confidentiality.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
