Skipper Eye-Q Super Speciality Eye hospital is an International Eye Hospital chain with the presence of 30 in India and 5 in Nigeria handling all types of Eye Surgeries such as Cataract, Retina, Glaucoma, presbyopia, cornea, squint, refractive error and other vision problems, having treated 10+ Million patients. Our patients get the same treatment in Nigeria as in the US, UK, and India. We are 19 Years in Eye Care and HMO Empanelled Hospitals.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Counsellor

Location: Gwarimpa, Abuja (FCT)

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Counsel patients throughout the registration and post-treatment journey.
• Explain medical conditions, recommended procedures, and associated costs to patients and their families.
• Provide clear and accurate information to help patients understand their treatment options.
• Follow up with patients and support them in making informed decisions regarding their care.
• Build positive relationships with patients and ensure a high-quality patient experience.
• Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and convincing skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field with 3 years experience.
• Female candidates are preferred.
• Fluency in Hausa and English is required.
• Previous experience in counselling, healthcare, customer service, or a patient-facing role is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Good convincing and persuasive skills, with the ability to effectively communicate treatment options and encourage patients to make informed decisions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
