Job title: Medical Coder III
About the Role The Medical Coder III is a senior-level coder responsible for accurate diagnoses and procedures coding (ICD-10-CM and CPT) in compliance with guidelines and regulations. This hybrid role supports financial accuracy and regulatory compliance within Endeavor Health by leading audits and mentoring staff.
What You'll Do
- Assign accurate diagnostic (ICD-10-CM) and procedural (CPT) codes to medical records, including complex coding scenarios.
- Lead and conduct internal audits of medical records and coding, guiding junior coders.
- Analyze clinical documentation and collaborate with physicians and staff to clarify and improve documentation for accurate coding.
- Stay current with coding guidelines, conventions, and regulatory changes; share knowledge with the coding team.
- Resolve coding questions with clinical staff, ensuring compliant code assignments and documentation improvement.
- Generate advanced coding reports and summaries, highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Mentor and train junior coders and contribute to best practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in coding software and EHR systems, supporting process improvements.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree (required).
- Certifications: CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT (required).
- Experience: 5+ years of coding experience, including ICD-10-CM and CPT, with complex coding.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA privacy standards and healthcare regulations.

- Salary: 26.61 - 39.92 USD hourly.
