About the Role Registered Nurse in the Medical Care Unit providing direct patient care using the nursing process. The RN educates patients and significant others, documents care in the medical record, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care. This role requires strong critical thinking, effective communication, and proficiency with electronic medical records.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in the Medical Care Unit.
- Educate patients and significant others and document care in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Respond to patient crises and emergencies; apply standard precautions and maintain safety.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance and adapt to changing unit needs.
- Utilize computer systems for documentation and communication.
What We're Looking For
- Current RN license in the state of Oregon.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Recent acute care hospital experience preferred (within the past 5 years).
- Strong reading, writing, and communication skills in English; effective teaching abilities.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical record documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform in a clinical environment; willingness to follow standard precautions.
Nice to Have
- Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $47.82 - $71.26 per hour (USD), depending on experience.
