Job title: Medical Assistant/Scheduling Coordinator

About the Role The Medical Assistant/Scheduling Coordinator will coordinate patient care from arrival to discharge, perform vital signs, prepare patients for exam, and ensure accurate documentation and scheduling in the EHR. This role supports scheduling processes and requires follow-through on orders, documentation, and authorizations prior to visits.

What You'll Do

  • Demonstrate compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and take action to resolve questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Assist patients to exam/procedure rooms; obtain medical and social history, vital signs, height/weight, allergy information, medication reconciliation information and records data in the electronic health record (EHR); record information accurately and timely in EHR.
  • Assist providers by ensuring that orders, documentation and authorizations are in place prior to office visit/treatment/procedure.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High school diploma, GED or higher; Medical Assistant course completion if hired after March 1, 2025.
  • Licensure/Certification: American Heart Association BLS required; Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a medical practice/clinic or scheduling in healthcare; Clinic scheduling experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, communicate using medical terminology, create a welcoming and empathetic environment, professional communication, handle stressful situations calmly, operate general office equipment, organize data for retrieval, complete training/orientation programs, use Microsoft Office Suite and other software, basic insurance knowledge, critical thinking, knowledge of Epic scheduling/registration tools, self-starter, written and verbal communication.
  • Ages of Patients: Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric.

Nice to Have

  • Medical Assistant Certification (preferred).
  • Clinic scheduling experience (preferred).
