Medical Assistant III

About the Role Join University of Utah Health's pediatric orthopedic team as a Medical Assistant III. You will support young patients and their families across multiple clinic locations (Salt Lake City, Lehi, Provo, and Layton), splitting time between sites with no weekend shifts. This role blends direct patient care, clinic operations, and back-office support in a fast-paced pediatric orthopedic setting. What You'll Do

• Patient Care and History: greet pediatric patients and families, collect medical history, and help ensure each child feels comfortable, safe, and cared for.
• Casting & Clinic Care: assist with applying/removing casts, removing surgical pins, sutures, and post-op dressings; guide patients on the use of braces, boots, crutches, splints, and other durable medical equipment (DME).
• Clinic Support: maintain accurate documentation in our Electronic Medical Records (EMR), coordinate appointments, and support day-to-day clinic flow.
• Back Office Support: answer patient calls, prep charts, and conduct post-op follow-up calls to keep operations efficient behind the scenes. What We're Looking For
• Ability to perform essential duties with quality patient care and a smooth clinic experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and team members.
• Proficiency in our orthopedic clinic skills within six weeks of hire; basic competency testing will occur before specialty skills are introduced.
• Safety-minded with adherence to protocols; potential exposure to bodily fluids, needles, and other contaminants.
• Physical stamina to stand, transfer patients, hold extremities, and operate equipment as needed. Compensation & Benefits
• Pay rate: $20.00-$24.00 per hour, DOE.
