About the Role Logan Health's Hematology & Oncology clinic is seeking a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join as a PRN team member. In this patient-centered specialty clinic, you’ll provide compassionate care and support to patients with cancer and blood disorders, collaborating with physicians, APPs, and nurses to deliver high-quality care. What You'll Do
- Greet, room, and prepare patients for examinations and treatments, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Collect laboratory specimens, perform competency-validated clinical tasks, and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
- Coordinate patient care activities including referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, scheduling, and follow-up appointments.
- Support daily clinic operations by maintaining exam rooms, equipment, and supplies while assisting with patient calls and portal communications. What We're Looking For
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- RQI Provider (BLS) within seven days of hire/transfer or before providing independent patient care.
- Preferred: One (1) year of experience in a medical practice setting; medical office experience and medical terminology training; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, basic laboratory values, pharmacology, infection control practices, and HIPAA requirements.
- Professional qualifications: strong organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize effectively; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team; commitment to professionalism, patient confidentiality, and exceptional patient care; integrity, kindness, and empathy; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn additional software as needed. Nice to Have
- Medical office experience and medical terminology training.
- Experience with electronic medical records and patient portal communications.
- Willingness to learn new software and adapt to scheduling needs. Compensation & Benefits
