About the Role The Medical Assistant works under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Provider(s) to greet patients, relay messages, assist with procedures, and perform assigned clinical responsibilities using sterile and aseptic techniques. Based at National Spine & Pain Centers in Alexandria, VA, this role supports daily patient flow and serves as a liaison between Providers and patients. What You'll Do
- Greet patients in waiting area, exam room, and/or procedure room as appropriate
- Prepare patients for care, ensuring comfort and safety at all times
- Manage daily patient flow and act as liaison between Providers and patients by relaying information
- Monitor clinical messages and communicate responses to Providers and patients
- Organize, clean, and prepare exam, procedure, and recovery rooms before and after each patient
- Complete documentation for patient charts: obtain diagnostic studies (labs, X-rays, path reports), take and record vitals, review medications and allergies, and note Provider orders and prescriptions
- Provide discharge/follow-up instructions and educational materials
- Assist with follow-up programs and pre/post procedure calls as assigned
- Adhere to safety and infection control procedures, including X-ray safety, sterile supplies, waste disposal, and aseptic techniques
