Job title: Medical Assistant
About the Role Medical Assistant at Dayton Children's Main Campus Urology Clinic performs both clinical and clerical duties to support patient care, including taking vital signs and documenting in EPIC, while helping with procedures and ensuring efficient patient flow.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine clinical skills for patient care (taking vital signs, weight, height) and assist with procedures as needed.
- Document in EPIC and ensure documentation is complete in time for the provider to dictate and close an encounter.
- Manage patient flow, chaperone, stock rooms, and order tests and supplies.
- Support service delegated by the RN, nurse practitioner, or physician.
- Interact with other department personnel to maintain timely patient flow and provide quality customer service.
- Work hours are 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
What We're Looking For
- Education: HSD/GED required; completion of a Medical Assisting program required.
- Certification/Licensure: CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.
- Strong clinical and clerical skills; ability to document in EPIC; patient-focused with good communication.
- Ability to collaborate with RNs, NPs, physicians and other staff to support patient care.
Nice to Have
- EPIC experience or familiarity is a plus.
- CPR certification (preferred at hire) is valued, though not required at start.
