About the Role The Medical Assistant Associate - Surgical Specialties role at Michigan Medicine supports outpatient specialty and surgical clinics. This position emphasizes working with surgical and procedure-based skills in fast-paced outpatient settings to support patient care and clinic operations. What You'll Do
- Provide clinical support in outpatient surgical specialty clinics and assist with routine procedures in collaboration with the care team.
- Prepare exam rooms, assist with minor procedures, manage supplies and documentation, and help maintain patient flow in a busy outpatient environment.
- Support multiple specialty areas listed under Surgical Specialties (e.g., General Surgery including Acute Care, Trauma Burn, Colorectal, Endocrine, Hepato-Pancreatic Biliary, Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery; Plastic Surgery; Dermatology/Mohs; Wound Care; Urology; Podiatry; Otolaryngology; Ophthalmology; Thoracic Surgery; Ostomy Services; Pediatrics; Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation; Orthopedic Surgery). - Interest in or experience with surgical and procedure-based skills.
- Comfort working in outpatient surgical/clinical settings and collaborating with diverse care teams across multiple specialties.
