Medical Advisor, Oncology

About the Role As a Medical Advisor, you will play a key role in leading and shaping the assigned oncology portfolio strategy in close collaboration with cross functions, developing and executing strategic medical plans with impact. You will support high performance of the MSL team as a subject matter expert and develop scientific relationships with external stakeholders to enable access and evidence generation. What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge for assigned product(s) / relevant therapeutic area(s) through attendance/participation at key internal meetings/training sessions, congresses, and regular self-study of the literature.
• Provide expert medical/scientific advice for assigned products and related therapeutic areas, including responding to requests for scientific/technical information; contribute to the development and medical and scientific accuracy of core dossiers.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers; participate in scientific congresses, advisory boards, round-table meetings, and other medical initiatives.
• Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals individually or in groups (meetings, clinical sessions, congresses).
• Screen relevant literature and develop summaries of key messages for internal use; assist TA Lead/Head Medical Affairs to draft plans and execute medical plans.
• Deliver regular updates to marketing on new evidence relevant to brand/TA to help business units; train sales forces and other departments; develop training materials as required.
• Clinical Research Activities: oversee IIS studies in consultation with TA Lead/Head Medical Affairs; support the global team in management of clinical studies; review and approve promotional materials for medical accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor competitive intelligence and communicate findings within the Company; work with cross-functional teams (marketing, market access, regulatory affairs, sales, medical information, PV, etc.) to ensure alignment and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with national laws, AbbVie policies, codes of conduct, and accepted standards of best practice. What We're Looking For
• Medical degree (MBBS) with postgraduate qualification (MD in Pharmacology), or BDS/MDS with 7–8 years of experience in medical strategic roles.
• 4–5 years of experience in medical affairs, preferably in oncology; strong background in oncology domain.
• General knowledge of drug development and clinical research is an added advantage.
• Keen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product and in medical research in general.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
• Travel requirements: ~30%; travel pan India and overseas when needed; travel requirements may change as per business needs. Compensation & Benefits
