Job title: Mechanical Technician II
Overview
Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited (NNEC) is recruiting a Mechanical Technician II to carry out maintenance work. The role may be assigned to either a company (XOM) employee or a contractor resource and typically reports to a supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Assist mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, including engines, instruments, controls, robots, and machines.
- Help prepare proposals and cost estimates.
- Actively participate in the use of all on-the-job safety tools.
- Review job packs.
- Identify safety issues associated with jobs and ensure their removal or mitigation prior to working.
- Execute work as planned.
- Record technical history as required by the workgroup, including the Global Reliability Tool (GRT) and data sheets.
- Provide feedback on job pack improvements to the Execution FLS.
- Request permits and notify the Supervisor if a permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of the requested time.
Requirements
- Discipline-appropriate certification(s), if applicable, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps.
- Team player who exhibits effective teamwork when working with persons over whom they may have no direct authority and demonstrates a willingness to assist others.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
