As a Mechanical Supervisor - Steam Turbine, you will support Siemens Energy customers during planned maintenance outages at power plant sites across the UK and overseas. You will lead site teams or carry out hands-on mechanical work yourself, ensuring large steam turbine and generator equipment is safely disassembled, inspected, reassembled and returned to service.

You will work closely with Site Management, Site Leads, craft technicians, subcontractors and customer representatives. As a key technical contact on site, you will provide practical advice, manage changing priorities and make sure work is delivered to the agreed scope, schedule, quality and safety requirements.

This is a site-based field service role suited to someone who combines strong mechanical knowledge of steam turbines and combined-cycle power plants with the confidence to supervise teams, communicate with customers and manage technical issues as they arise.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance contracts at UK and overseas customer sites, leading teams of Siemens Energy personnel, customer staff and subcontractors, or completing mechanical work directly.
  • Support Site Management and Site Leads with the safe, effective execution of outage and maintenance activities on large steam turbine and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers on the disassembly and reassembly of steam turbine equipment within the agreed scope of supply.
  • Manage daily site priorities, emerging work, technical issues, risks and mitigations, ensuring work remains aligned to customer specifications, plans and outage deadlines.
  • Represent Siemens Energy in customer meetings and supplier discussions, maintaining effective working relationships with customers, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Support work package execution, project planning and documentation, while driving quality, continuous improvement, health, safety and environmental compliance, and the development of site personnel.

What You Bring

  • An HNC/HND in an engineering discipline and/or a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Ideally around five years’ technical experience in a field service or site-based engineering role, including experience supervising teams.
  • Strong practical knowledge of large steam turbines and combined-cycle power plant technology.
  • Experience of mechanical maintenance, disassembly, inspection and reassembly activities on large steam turbines.
  • The ability to lead craft technicians and subcontractors safely, while managing multiple workstreams and responding effectively to emerging issues.
  • Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder-management skills, with flexibility to travel and work at customer sites in the UK and overseas.
