Mechanical Supervisor

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to support an operational area at our Brunswick Cellulose facility in Brunswick, Georgia. The Mechanical Supervisor will collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering leaders to execute short-term and long-term maintenance strategies that support the safety, reliability, and performance of the area’s equipment. This role reports to the Mechanical Superintendent.

Our Team The Brunswick Cellulose facility is one of the largest integrated fluff pulp mills in the country with a modern woodyard, fiberline, three paper machines, waste treatment plant, and utilities operations. The Brunswick Cellulose Mill, located in the southeast corner of Georgia is within minutes of downtown Brunswick and about an hour from Jacksonville, FL to the south and Savannah, GA to the north.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the performance and development of the mechanical maintenance team by demonstrating strong leadership and reinforcing best practices
  • Develop and manage weekly schedules for mechanical maintenance crafts based on planned work, and assign resources to planned work orders
  • Manage mechanical maintenance resources and work orders, prioritizing safety-related work orders and preventive maintenance activities
  • Investigate injuries and ensure incident reports and root cause analyses are completed, including appropriate follow-up actions
  • Apply economic thinking when addressing resource gaps and maximizing crew efficiency
  • Manage contractors supporting routine maintenance work
  • Support the Asset Maintenance Work Process (AMWP) by:
  • Providing daily updates on scheduled work and emerging liabilities
  • Reviewing precision maintenance sheets and sharing relevant information with operations
  • Supporting maintenance key performance indicators, including schedule adherence, preventive maintenance compliance, and resource utilization
  • Closing work orders and providing feedback to planners to support continuous improvement

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience applying reliability, predictive maintenance, and preventive maintenance techniques
  • Experience performing mechanical maintenance, including repairing or troubleshooting industrial equipment such as pumps and tanks, in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex equipment or maintenance issues

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of steam-powered turbines
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system, such as 4Site, Passport, AssetSuite, or SAP
  • Experience in the pulp and paper industry or woodyard
  • Experience leading root cause failure analyses
  • Experience implementing precision maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability
  • Experience leading teams of hourly employees
