MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Lead mechanical operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
• Supervise mechanical technicians, fitters, contractors, and service personnel.
• Ensure mechanical equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Diagnose mechanical equipment faults and coordinate timely repairs.
• Support the operation and maintenance of pumps, compressors, turbines, engines, gearboxes, valves, pressure vessels, and other mechanical equipment.
• Review maintenance work orders, equipment history, and job plans.
• Ensure work is performed according to approved procedures, drawings, manufacturer recommendations, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with operations, electrical, instrumentation, HSE, QA/QC, and other disciplines.
• Support shutdown, turnaround, commissioning, and start-up activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan daily and scheduled mechanical maintenance activities.

• Inspect equipment and identify defects, abnormal conditions, and potential failures.

• Lead equipment disassembly, inspection, repair, alignment, assembly, and testing.

• Supervise installation and replacement of mechanical equipment and components.

• Perform or oversee troubleshooting of rotating and static equipment.

• Verify equipment alignment, lubrication, clearances, tolerances, and operating conditions.

• Review maintenance records and recommend corrective or preventive actions.

• Ensure availability of required tools, spare parts, materials, and specialist services.

• Coordinate contractor activities and monitor quality of completed work.

• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), JSA, LOTO, confined-space, lifting, and other HSE requirements.

• Participate in root-cause investigations for recurring mechanical failures.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, inspection reports, and work completion documentation.

• Monitor maintenance progress and report outstanding work, equipment defects, and operational risks.

• Provide technical guidance and coaching to mechanical personnel.

• Support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and maintenance practices.

• QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related discipline.

• Significant experience in mechanical maintenance and operations within the oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, or industrial sector.

• Strong experience with rotating and static mechanical equipment.

• Knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, engines, gearboxes, valves, pressure vessels, and associated mechanical systems.

• Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment drawings, mechanical drawings, manuals, and maintenance procedures.

• Experience with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.

• Knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, standards, and manufacturer requirements.

• Strong understanding of PTW, LOTO, JSA, risk assessment, and mechanical maintenance safety requirements.

• Experience leading technicians, contractors, and multidisciplinary maintenance teams.

• Strong leadership, planning, troubleshooting, communication, and reporting skills.

• Ability to work in onshore, offshore, plant, construction, shutdown, and turnaround environments.
