Mechanical Packaging Engineer
Location: On-site in Mountain View, CA (Preferred). On-site in Denver, CO (Satisfactory). Remote within USA (Less Preferred)
Job Duration: 10 months
Our client is the first non-military unmanned aircraft company to receive FAA Type Certification (2022) and operate under an FAA Production Certificate. We are seeking a Mechanical Packaging Engineer to lead the mechanical packaging and systems integration for aircraft (avionics, motors, controllers) and ground systems for our drone delivery system.
Responsibilities

Package avionics, motors, controllers, and related hardware in the aircraft

Package electronics and subsystems in docks and ground systems

Manage space claims, mounting, and serviceability access

Address thermal management, vibration, and environmental protection

Coordinate harness routing and interfaces with the electrical team

Produce CAD models, drawings, and integration documentation

Required Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field

5+ years of electromechanical packaging and systems integration experience

Proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA)

GD&T and design for manufacturing and assembly

Familiarity with the aerospace regulatory environment (FAA airworthiness requirements)

Salary Range
-
$120,000 - 140,000
