Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and technically competent Mechanical Maintenance Officer to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery, ensuring smooth factory operations and minimal production downtime.
• The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Extrusion Blown Film Machines and Bag-Cutting Machines. Candidates with relevant experience in flexible packaging manufacturing companies are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and perform repairs on extrusion blown film machines and bag-cutting machines.
• Diagnose machine breakdowns and implement effective solutions to minimise production downtime.
• Inspect machine components regularly and identify worn-out, damaged, or faulty parts for repair or replacement.
• Conduct routine servicing, lubrication, adjustment, and alignment of machine components.
• Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and productivity.
• Support machine installation, setup, testing, and commissioning when required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown reports, servicing schedules, and equipment history.
• Identify recurring mechanical faults and implement preventive measures to avoid repeated breakdowns.
• Ensure the availability and proper use of maintenance tools, spare parts, and workshop equipment.
• Work closely with production personnel to resolve equipment-related issues and meet production targets.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to plan maintenance activities without unnecessarily disrupting production.
• Ensure proper maintenance of mechanical systems, machine drives, bearings, rollers, cutting units, and other relevant components.
• Adhere to factory safety procedures and ensure safe working practices during maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe maintenance workshop and work environment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to machine operators on proper equipment handling and basic maintenance.
• Recommend machine upgrades, replacement of faulty components, and other measures to improve equipment performance.

Requirements

• OND, HND, or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Practical, hands-on experience with Extrusion Blown Film Machines and Bag-Cutting Machines is compulsory.
• Previous employment in a flexible packaging, polythene, or nylon manufacturing company is a strong advantage.
• Candidates who have worked with the following companies will receive priority consideration: Hana Packaging, Bhojraj, Veepee, Eagle Packaging, Stallion, Omnik, Crownpack, Shakti, Prim Pack, Shanghai Packaging, Breeze Industries, Gold Coin, Aristocrat, Sky Packaging, and Poly Films.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults, dismantle and assemble machine components, and carry out effective repairs.
• Sound knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment servicing, and breakdown troubleshooting.
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and fault-diagnosis skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond promptly to machine breakdowns.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety, equipment reliability, and production efficiency.

Salary

N250,000 – N500,000 monthly, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
