Job title: Mechanical Inspector
About the Role The Mechanical Inspector reports to the Mechanical Services Manager and is responsible for quality control inspection, testing and compliance of the Mechanical Services department. Ensures that all Quality Control standards and objectives are met for in-house work and work from outside vendors.
What You'll Do
- Ensure and/or verify completed Mechanical Services work (in-house and from outside vendors) meet quality control standards.
- Provide system documentation of Quality Control procedures using SPIs, ISO documentation, and Quality Control Review Audits.
- Review all internal documentation daily and outgoing paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in production as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Verify and sign off on a roll’s final approval for shipment.
- Communicate QC procedures to appropriate personnel within the Mechanical Services department.
- Report all Quality Control information, updates, status and issues to Mechanical Services Manager.
- Responsible for the quality control inspection of roll parts, new parts, and machined parts.
- Ensure that all Quality Control standards and objectives are met.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: 2 years of relevant manufacturing-related mechanical or millwright experience, or 2 years of technical training preferred.
- Languages: English.
- Must have a working knowledge of formal quality systems such as ISO.
- Solid mechanical aptitude skills, and ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Requires frequent lifting of moderately heavy objects and occasional lifting of objects 50 pounds and over; hand dexterity for repetitive movements and operation of hand power tools and heavy machinery; standing for extended periods.
